Ogun State government has announced modalities for the massive repairs of roads, Primary Health Centres and Primary schools across the State.
Governor Dapo Abiodun announced these modalities on Monday 24th June, 2019, while meeting with the leaders of All Progressive Congress (APC) at the MTR Hall, Ibara, Housing Estate, Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
The governor asked the from the APC leaders from 20 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the the State to take decisions on three roads, a Primary Health Centres and one Primary school in each of the 236 wards they wanted his administration to repair.
Governor Abiodun gave the party leaders three days ultimatum to take decisions on the infrastructures that will be given priority by his administration in terms of repair across the 20 LGAs of the State.
” We are giving you just three days to choose the top three roads, one primary health care center per ward and a primary school per ward in your local government that you want government to prioritize, if we don’t get yours, you will only have your local government leadership to blame,” he said.
He explained that the move was part of his resolve to fulfil his electioneering promises to the people of the State as well as making the party leaders to be partners in progress and development process of the State.
If Governor Dapo Abiodun fulfilled this promise, 708 roads, 236 Primary Health Centres and 236 Primary schools would have been repaired across Ogun State.
Nigeria Meter has set measuring meter to monitor the manifestation of this promise and will continue to monitor its fulfilment in a bid to promoting transparency, accountability and good governance.
