The reconstructed Adigbe-Opako culvert has been finally opened to traffic on Wednesday 25th September, 2019 after the initial delay as mandated by Governor Dapo Abiodun.
Consultant to the Governor on Works and Infrastructure, Engineer Ade Akinsanya gave the Wednesday new date following the inability of the Ogun State Public Works Agency (OGPWA) to meet up with the mandate of the governor to deliver the project before Monday 23rd September, 2019.
Engineer Akinsanya told Nigeria Meter that the delay was due to faulty equipment and heavy rainfall.
Meanwhile, traffic build up on the reconstructed culvert late last week after heavy rain on Thursday in Abeokuta and its environs.
The present palliative on the road is limited to the culvert leaving flood to affect free flow of traffic on the road which has poor drainage system.
By this development, Governor Abiodun has fulfilled his promise to construct a new culvert after the collapse of the previous one.
As residents and users of the Adigbe-Opako road, are you satisfied with the fulfilment of this promise by Governor Dapo Abiodun?
