Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has offered automatic employment to 20 lucky applicants who attended the official launching ceremony of Ogun State Jobs Portal at the June 12 Cultural Center, Kuto, Abeokuta.

On 13th August 2019, Governor Abiodun had promised to offer automatic employment to ten lucky applicants during the launch today as contained in a press release by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Kunle Somorin.

The 20 “lucky applicants” were offered the job today (15 August, 2019) at the launch of the Ogun State Jobs Portal through a short, on the spot, and online aptitude test for the participants.

The exercise which was made public and transparent was projected to all the attendees, addressing earlier question raised by Nigeria Meter about the modality of selecting the “lucky applicants” for automatic employment.

The 10 participants who have the highest scores were initially offered automatic employment, but Governor Abiodun immediately asked the next 10 higher scores to be added.

Similarly, the State Government also made good its promise to launch the Ogun State Jobs Portal after initial hitches experienced in the previous one (www.iseya.ng/public) with “overwhelming traffic” a month ago.

The government had to upgrade the website and address initial concerns raised by Nigeria Meter on why the jobs portal was not hosted on the Ogun State Government official website.

“The government has not make any statement why it abandoned its customised website for the exercise for an entire new host”, Nigeria Meter had queried.

The State Government while announcing the upgraded website, gave the url as https://jobs.ogunstate.gov.ng for jobseekers in the State.

Nigeria Meter accessed the jobs portal and was functional as at 5:30 p.m of Thursday 15th August, 2019 few hours after it was opened.
